The difficulty of the people in the community is that they walk for over five kilometers for water.

Speaking with Ghanadistricts.com, Mr. Braimah Christopher the Assembly Member for the Area said, the well is poorly constructed and contaminated. It’s not only the health risk of being infected with water-borne diseases such as diarrhea, Typhoid among others, but the mechanism of using a rope and a gallon to draw water puts minors at high risk.

The wall protecting the well is approximately at knee level and this increases the risk of children falling into it when there is a slip.

Mr. Bramiah added that, although, the National Security came and built some boreholes for the community but there is no water flows from them and for that matter the community depend on dugouts as sources of drinking water and they have to use Allon just to get clean water.
“Yes I am aware of the problem, but I have done what I should do as an Assemblyman to the problem solved but to no avail”

He said the issue has been reported to the District Assembly, so I am hoping that it will be solved, He indicated.

Mr. Briamah Christopher therefore appealed to the District Assembly, NGOs, Government and all well-meaning people to come to their aid to enable the community to get portable water.
