The difficulty of getting sustainable water to power agric related activities in the Sawla-Tuna-Kalba district will largely be mitigated as rehabilitation of some dug-outs for five communities have been completed.
Although, the project was set to suffice the needs of resident farmers in getting source of water for irrigation purposes for dry season gardening, DCE for the area, Isaac Mumuni Dramani says the dug-out could also offer avenue for the community members to access water for domestic use.
Beneficiary communities included Gbeniyiri, Kanchen, Gunsi, Mbegbee, and Gbonkuyiri, all suburbs of the district.
Mr Mumuni Dramani disclosed that the assembly allotted portions of its Common Fund to complete the projects.
He said implementation of the various projects was also captured under community support, thus offering the chance for community members to provide labour for the successful completion of the project.
