Mr. Isaac Mumuni Dramani, District Chief Executive for the Sawla-Tuna-Kalba district assembly has appealed to Chiefs and Opinion leaders in the district to safeguard the interest of its people and also ensure relative security for residents against Fulani herdsmen.
“To a large extent the security in the district is relatively stabled except the influx of the Fulani herdsmen whose activities on the land are inimical to lives and properties”, he indicated.
Highlighting the security issues in the district in an address during a recent meeting, Mr. Dramani intimated that the arm robbery incidents which erupted in the area sometime back has ceased enabling the safety of traders who were largely victims of these attacks.
He commended the District Security Committee (DISEC) on this feat, and noted that traders who patronize Kalba market have had the calm environment to undertake their various activities.
He thus called on the traditional leaders to do everything possible to protect the people against these Fulani herdsmen, since peace and development were the most important elements necessary for a sustainable development in contemporary society.
