A Minister of State, Dr.  Apea-Kubi  has today commissioned a new 3-unit classroom block for the Akenkansu Junior High School in the Birim South District in the Eastern Region.

The project, which is under the Better Ghana Agenda by the NDC government, also has ancilliary facilities.

Speaking at the commissioning ceremony, Dr.  Apea-Kubi  highlighted on the importance of education saying that it was the key to success.

He also took the opportunity to admonish parents to stop unnecessary spending and buying of clothes for funeral and other functions and invest their resources in educating their wards to make them better people in future.

He also advised the people of Akenkansu to maintain the school block for its prolongivity.

On roads, Dr.  Apea-Kubi promised to take the issue of the deplorable road network in the area up for it to be addressed as soon as possible.

For his part the District Chief Executive, Mr. Baffour Mensah-Takyi called on the chiefs to help provide accommodation facilities as well as other support such as foodstuffs to teachers who are posted to the area to make their stay comfortable to enable them put their best.
