District Chief Executive of Atebubu-Amantin Sampson Owusu Boateng has assured residents of more developments to address challenges confronting the people.

The DCE gave the assurance at a colorful parade of school children and voluntary organizations to marke the 57th independence anniversary celebration in the Atebubu-Amantin district.

The children drawn from 30 primary 15 junior high and one senior high school thrilled the large crowd with various marching and military skills at the Atebubu Liberation Park under the command of Station Officer Kwaku Tuah of the Ghana National Fire Service.

“The theme was well chosen particularly at a period when our beloved country is being confronted with teething and challenging situations and is striving in putting back the ailing economy on track so that our economic growth will accelerate or at least be maintained at the current GDP growth rate of 8%”. “I cannot conclude my address without reference to our future leaders, the youth and everyone on current trends of HIV/AIDS infections. I therefore wish to use this forum to appeal to school children and the youth not to allow themselves to get lured into indecent behaviors that could lead them get infected with this deadly disease”, he added.

Awards were presented to the three best performing schools in the march pass in the primary and junior high school categories with J M J School sweeping the first prizes in both categories.

The function was chaired by the Omanhene of the Atebubu traditional area Nana Owusu Achiaw Brempong II.
