Completion of new classroom blocks for the Horvi and Agorve Basic Schools in the Keta Municipality is expected to significantly address overcrowding in these schools.

The Keta Municipal Assembly has to intervene with these new infrastructures to address inadequate Classrooms that led to overcrowding and hindering effective teaching and learning in the schools.

The construction of the 3-Unit classroom blocks each at Horvi and Agorve cost the assembly 73,936.36 and 82,214.33 respectively and were financed through, District Development Facility (DDF) and Urban Development Grant (UDG).

When the Municipal Chief Executive, Sylvester Tornyeava visited the projects, he indicated that though government through the Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETFund) has initiated a number of infrastructure interventions in the municipality, the assembly was compelled to augment the efforts of the central government by building more classrooms to facilitate their quest to providing conducive environment for teaching and learning in all schools.

He said more of such interventions would be made this year even rehabilitating some schools with structure defects.
