The cry of residents of Abutiakope in the Keta Municipality for public toilet facility has been heard as the assembly responded with the construction of water closet toilet facility.

The 1-number 10-seater water closet facility was constructed by the assembly at the cost of Ghs40, 108.50 with funds from the District Development Facility (DDF) which is a performance based funds that assemblies are entitled to.

The project which was initially scheduled for completion in six months was however completed in 3 months.

Addressing the gathering at the inauguration, the Keta Municipal Chief Executive, Sylvester Tornyeava commended the people for their patience and reminded them that the assembly was aware of the challenges of the various communities and will address them appropriate when funds are available.

He also reminded the people of their duty of safe guarding investments made in their communities especially physical structures that are provided in order to ensure they last long enough to enable the assembly and government to tackle other communities that are equally lacking some facilities.

Provision of the toilet facility is also to enhance environmental clean cleanliness as it will stop residents from using the seashore as places of convenience.
