A new clinic estimated at GHs126, 631.87 has been completed for residence at Atiavi in the Keta Municipality in the Volta Region.

The new facility constructed by the assembly with funds from the Urban Development Grant (UDG) is to replace the old and dilapidated health centre that served the community over the years.

The Atiavi Health centre have facilities such wards,dispensary, washroom, OPD, consulting room, sanitary facilities among others.

Inspecting the facility, the Municipal Chief Executive for the Keta Municipal Assembly, Sylvester Tornyeava said the health of the citizenry remains very important to the assembly; as such the assembly would continue to intervene when and where necessary to improve access to quality health delivery.

He said health facilities as the one at Atiavi are very important not only because they take pressure away from the main Hospital at the municipality but the easy access they provide to residents especially in managing critical cases before referring them to the main hospital.

The MCE also assured that aside providing infrastructure, the assembly is also concerned about logistics and personnel that are required to ensure effective use of the facilities and would as well be extending some of its budgets towards addressing these issues.

Meanwhile, the Municipal Assembly intends converting the old structure into bungalows for the staff.
