Chiefs within the La-Nkwantanang-Madina Municipality have expressed gratitude to the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Mr Franklin Anku, for the continuous development of the municipality.

The chiefs and elders expressed their gratitude after Mr Anku delivered his New Year message at the conference room of the Madina Chief, Alhaji Baba Seidu, yesterday.

The chiefs appealed to the MCE to construct speed ramps on roads under construction within the municipality and also improve on the supply of water.

On the decongestion exercise within the municipality, the chiefs asked the MCE to sensitise the squatters on the need for a decongestion in order to avert any confrontation.

Mr Anku reminded the chiefs and elders to continue to give him the needed support to develop the municipality adding; "development is not an individual effort but a collective responsibility".

He, therefore, pleaded with the chiefs to support the assembly to bring development to the area.

Mr Anku said the municipality would enjoy uninterrupted water supply the moment the Kpong Booster Station completed its expansion works.

He said the assembly would soon fence the lorry station at the Madina-Zongo Junction to bring sanity to the area.

Present at the meeting were Alhaji Amadu Sorogoh, Member of Parliament of Madina, Alhaji Saaka Dramani, Municipal Co-ordinating Director, and Alhaji Ibrahim Baba, Presiding Member of La-Nkwantanang-Madina Municipal Assembly.
