As part of measures to improve on the level of security within the Berekum Municipality, the Assembly has re-installed all broken down streetlights in the area.

The re-installation project funded from the District Assembly Common Fund (DACF) captured areas such as Kraso, Pruso, around the Magistrate bunglow, the main highway, main lorry station area and other places.

However, Ahenebronoso also benefitted from installation of new streetlights which were also funded from the DACF.

The MCE for the Berekum Municipal Asembly, Opoku Boakye- Yiadom who made this known in an interaction with Ghanadistricts.com said he was moved to spearhead the project when he took the mandate as the MCE for the area because he observed that most of those places were dark at night since they were faulty and were not working.

He believes the streetlights whle improving on security would also make visibility and night activities an enjoyable one.
