Finally, the people of Berekum in the Brong Ahafo Region will have a reason to smile as the president has appointed a new Municipal Chief Executive for the area to represent him in that section of the country.

Ever since Stephen Lord Oppong, former MCE for the area, was kicked out some few months back, the people of Berekum have been very keen in knowing who the next MCE would be, his background and vision for the community and indeed his competence to effect the change to move the area to an enviable level.

Before his appointment, Mr. Opoku was a tutor at the Tema Methodist Day Senior High School in Accra.

He is yet to be confirmed by the Assembly members in the area.
