BEREKUM: Assembly to make agriculture enticing to attract youth

Mr. Opoku Boakye- Yiadom, MCE for the Berekum Municipality has said that in order to complement efforts of government in providing job opportunities in the country, there was however the need to make the agricultural sector more enticing to attract the youth.

Mr. Opoku Boakye- Yiadom, MCE for the Berekum Municipality has said that in order to complement efforts of government in providing job opportunities in the country, there was however the need to make the agricultural sector more enticing to attract the youth.

“We need to find innovative ways of strengthening initiatives such as Youth in agriculture in our municipality,” he added.

Mr. Boakye-Yiadom made the above suggestion during his victory speech when he was confirmed by Assembly Members in the area.

In his speech, Mr. Boakye-Yiadom touched on other areas including promotion of commercial Initiatives, providing clean water, Sanitation, roads and enhancing education within the municipality.

“Indeed it will be a greater milestone towards achieving our aspirations to improve the lives of the communities that we serve; I am both mindful and grateful of the confidence shown by the people of Berekum in me. However, we need to double up our efforts in assisting and supporting our Educational sector in the municipality,” he said.

He was confident that with all the structures of the municipality working together in a team effort, success for the people could be guaranteed”
