ADANSI N: Fire guts part of assembly block, security man arrested

Part of the Adansi North District Assembly office has been gutted by fire, report reaching Ghanadistricts.com indicates.
Confirming the incident in an interview, the District Chief Executive (DCE), Alhaji Latif Majdoud, stated that the incident was first reported by a group of students who were returning from watch night service.
According to him, though no valuable asserts was lost, few items such as chairs, doors and curtains were partly damaged.
He said with timely intervention of the Ghana National Fire Service, the fire would have spread to other parts of the block, thereby destroying few more properties of the assembly
Mr. Majdoud however smelled a foul play after preliminary investigation indicating the use of diesel which were evident on the walls at the scene.
The DCE said he suspect the security man who left his post at the time of the incident with the excuse of stomach upset which compelled him to return home during that late hours of the night.
Meanwhile the security guard has since being handed over to the police for further interrogation.
