AWUTU S: 8 communities connected to national grid

About eight communities in the Bawjiase Newtown Electoral Area in the Awutu Senya District have been connected to the national grid to improve economic activities in the area.

About eight communities in the Bawjiase Newtown Electoral Area in the Awutu Senya District have been connected to the national grid to improve economic activities in the area.

The move forms part of the ruling NDC’s “Better Ghana” agenda programme which seeks better the standard of living of the ordinary Ghanaian citizenry.

However Communities that benefited include Ayibge- Town, Atempenin, Akpeteshie-Camp, Zaabu-Zongo, Opembo,  and New- Town among other.

Assemblyman for the area, George Awotwe, who confirmed this in an interview with Ghanadistricts.com also expressed appreciation to government and called for more of such developments.

Mr. Awotwe further disclosed that Openmbo St. Francis Primary School has also benefited from a two separate 6 unit classroom blocks as part of efforts to eradicate schools under trees in the area.

According to the assemblyman, the projects were constructed with funding from the District Assembly’s Common fund (DACF) and OPEC fund respectively.
