The Deputy Minister in-charge of Pre-Tertiary Education, Mr Alex Kyeremeh last week embarked on a site verification tour within the Brong Ahafo and Ashanti Regions concerning the Community Senior High Schools Projects.

The visit was to ensure that lands allocated for the project by the local authorities had been properly acquired and devoid of all forms of litigation and ownership.

The project, which is the first batch of 50 out of the 200 Community Day Senior High Schools, among the President’s Priority Projects, would be built in the Ashanti and Brong Ahafo regions respectively.

In the Brong Ahafo Region, Mr Kyeremeh inspected sites in the Tano South, Kintampo South, Techiman North, Dormaa Municipality and Asunafo North Districts.

In the Ashanti region, the Deputy Minister also visited sites in the Obuasi Municipal, Adansi North, Bosomtwi Atwima Kwanwoma and Sekyere Afram Plains districts.

He scrutinized the site plans and other supporting legal documents and encouraged them to finish the remaining processes for the project to start immediately.

Mr Kyeremeh told the beneficiary communities of the importance government attaches to the project and encouraged them to support the project when it begins, adding that, “This will greatly enhance access to education, which the Ministry of Education is pursuing vigorously in 2014”, he noted.
