A number of development projects initiated by the Atiwa District Assembly through its share of District Development facility (DDF) have recorded significant progress.

The projects which range from school infrastructure, health facilities, road improvement to market infrastructure and sanitary facilities are at various stages of completion.

They include:

Community health centre at Abakoase about 55% complete

1 No. 5-unit lockable stores at Tumfa , about 20% complete

1 No. 10-unit lockable stores at Anyinam, about 30% complete

Spot improvement of Yohunu-Abrenya road, about 60%          complete

6-unit classroom block for D/A Primary at Amonom, completed and               handed over

Rehabilitation of market shed at Abakoase is completed while                 construction of culverts and refuse containers  slab at Anyinam               market is 50% complete

Market shed at Awuronsua and Kadewaso about 50% complete

Completion of market stalls and 3-unit classroom block for R/C JHS at         Apampatia and Banso is 90% and 70% complete respectively.

The assembly is looking forward to increasing interventions through the DDF in more communities to accelerate development to bring increased socioeconomic activities in various localities in the district.

Ironically, projects funded through the District assembly common fund (DACF) have not seen any change in their status even though payments for certificates on such projects have been honoured. Most contractors of such projects have still not moved to site to continue work.
