The Atiwa District Assembly has resolved to terminate contracts of non performing contractors and re-award the contracts to more serious contractors.

The Executive Committee which made the recommendation noted with great concern how some projects have delayed unnecessary or have been virtually abandoned by the contractors, a situation that is seriously affecting beneficiary communities.

Notable among these projects include 1 No. 3-unit bedroom at Kwabeng, 1 No. 3-unit classroom block at Akropong, and 1 No. water closet toilet at Moseaso. The measure has become necessary to serve as warning to other contractors to attach seriousness to their work and ensure projects are completed on time.

Meanwhile, the assembly is to expedite work on the Anyinam slaughter house for commissioning to ensure the public is served with wholesome meat for consumption.
