Eastern Regional Minister, Ms Helen Adjoa Ntoso has commissioned a new taxi rank at Anyinam.

The station constructed by the District Assembly at GH¢212,000, with funds from the District Development Facility (DDF) is to provide convenient environment for all users including drivers, commuters, as well as food vendors.

The facility contains passenger lounge, parking space for the vehicles, shed for food vendors, a urinal, ticketing booth, and an office for the local drivers’ union.

Executive Member of the Progressive Transport Association (PROTOA), Mr. Yaw Appau expressed gratitude to the assembly for the intervention and promised that they will adopt best practices to ensure facilities provided at the station lasts.

The driver however, expressed concern about the deplorable nature of the Kwabeng road and called on the regional minister and the assembly to experdite work on it to reduce maintenance on their vehicles.

Ms Ntoso assured them of government determination of improving road network across the length and breath of the country and appealed for patience, adding government was aware of the poor state of roads in the region and is making the necessary efforts improve them.
