About 20 communities in the Assin South District are seriously undergoing electricity upgrading and extension works to boost energy supply in the area.

Beneficiary communities include, Nyankomase Ahenkro, Assin Sobinso, Assin Nyiresi, Assin Odumase, Assin Nkran, Nsuaem Kyekyewere (district capital), Assin Dadieso, Assin Dahumako and Nsuta among others.

The move was in line with efforts to upgrade the district’s electricity power supply so as to enable the connection of other deprived communities to the national grid.

However confirming this in an interview with Ghanadistricts.com, a Public Relations Officer (PRO) for the assembly, Mr. Samuel Asiedu noted that the assembly under the leadership of Mrs. Sabina Appiah Kubi ought it wise to upgrade the supply of energy in the area after a thorough consideration.

He added that whereas works were completed in some communities others are still ongoing.
