ASSIN S: Assembly observes Prez Mills 1 week of demise

Activities in the Assin south District has been brought to a standstill as most people have joined the one-week celebration of the late President, Professor J.E.A. Mills who died on Tuesday, 24 July, 2012 at the 37 Military Hospital. 

Reporting to Ghanadistricts.com of exactly what is happening in the area, a Public Relations Officer for the Assin South District Assembly, Mr. Samuel Asiedu noted that the entire Nsuaem-Kyekyewere, the district capital and its surrounding communities have been painted with red and black colours in honour of the late President.

He further disclosed that a short ceremony will be organized today at the forecourt of the assembly to commemorate ex-President Mills’s one-week celebration.

Mr. Asiedu added the Assin Apinim and Assin Apinedasu Traditional Councils among other government officials are also being expected at the programme.

He hinted that the Chief Executive for the Assembly, Mrs. Sabina Appiah Kubi who will chair the programme will make short declarations about the passing-on of the President Mills and the way forward towards nation our building.

However the PRO also revealed that a Book of Condolence was yesterday opened at the assembly for residence to express their commiseration to the late Prof. Mills.
