The Government through the Ghana Education Trust Fund is to build girls’ hostel facility for the two Senior High schools in the Bunkpurugu/Yooyo district in the Northern Region.

President John Mahama who made the disclosure at the commissioning of small town water project in the district said contracts for the project have already been awarded to contractors and each of the school; Nakpanduri Business Senior High and Bunkpurugu senior high and technical will each benefit, adding the contractors would soon be on site to commence work.

On the issue of dining halls, the President pleaded for time to have the problem addressed. "Let me get back to Accra and after meeting my Technical team at the Ministry of Education, you would hear from us about the dining halls for this two schools", he added.

Currently, the students are said to be eating outside and under trees because of the small seize of the dining halls.

District Chief Executive, Philip Laari commended the government for the many interventions made in the district especially in the educational sector and expressed hope that those that are yet to be addressed will soon be attended to.

Meanwhile, the DCE disclosed that the second phase of the Small Town Water Project has been secured and will benefit the Binde community.
