The District Chief Executive of the Bunkpurugu District in the Northern Region, Philip Laari has assured residents of government resolve to solve the many developmental challenges confronting them.

The District Chief Executive of the Bunkpurugu District in the Northern Region, Philip Laari has assured residents of government resolve to solve the many developmental challenges confronting them.

According to him, a number of projects are already in progress while a number of them have also been completed all in an effort to address the infrastructure deficit in the district as well as provide the necessary environment for socioeconomic development in the district.

The DCE mentioned, the completion of the District Assembly block, the constructions of the district court , the Town water system which the President would come and commissioned soon, establishment of a radio station, the New district Hospital, extension of electricity to more than 15 communities, and the re-constructions of the Bridge linking Ghana and Togo.

Others include construction of a new District office complex for GES , new Quarters for the District Health Director and DCD, the construction of feeder roads at Namongo, Tuna 1 and 2 to Nalerigu, Tatala 1 and 2 ,Bunkpurugu-Kinkango road and Nanyiar to Kambatiak, and construction of a police station at Nakpanduri.

The rest are upgrading of the two senior high schools, construction of a new secondary school in the yunyoo constituency, construction of the eastern corridor road from Gushiegu through Namongo – Nakpanduri to Bawku, the construction of Town Water system at Binde and the road from Binde to Bunkpurugu which was awarded to MMU.

According to him, these are but few of the development projects the district has benefitted from, adding that by the time these projects are completed everyone would see the impact the projects would bring to their lives.

He therefore appealed to the people to be patients with government as it institute measures to deal with other challenges confronting them. He noted that the challenges are many and government needs time to strategically handle them across the country.

Meanwhile, Mr.Dindiok Kpemka called on the Chiefs and Opinion leaders to take the task up as traditional leaders and ensure that, the district remains very peaceful and united devoid of any differences, to create room for the accelerated development and proper recognition of citizens from the area for higher position in the country.
