BUNKPURUGU Y:Gov’t still on road infrastructure projects-DCE

The District Chief Executive for the Bunkpurugu Yunyoo District Assembly, Philip Laari has assured his residents that government is working out vigorously to implement the relevant infrastructure capable of facilitating the growth and development of the area.

The District Chief Executive for the Bunkpurugu Yunyoo District Assembly, Philip Laari has assured his residents that government is working out vigorously to implement the relevant infrastructure capable of facilitating the growth and development of the area.

A major infrastructure project cited in this case was the construction of the Eastern corridor road, which he indicated was seriously ongoing to particularly open up the area for economic activities.

“Just last week the contractors who will be working on the Yendi ,through Namong ,Nasuan Teema ,Nakpanduri to Bawku stretch have been introduced to the road and hopefully work will commence in the not too distance future “ he revealed.

Mr. Philip Laari disclosed this in an address delivered at the recent National Farmers’ Day celebrations held at Bunbuna Nakouruk, a community within the district.

He also mentioned that most of the feeder roads in the districts were being rehabilitated to facilitate the transportation of produce to the market centres. 

Among this is the Namongo –Tuna No2 road which he noted has been completed and plans were advanced to link it up to Nalerigu.

In addition he said, the Bunkpurugu-Kambatiak road, Tatara No1 –Tatara No2 road were all under rehabilitation to facilitate the movement of goods and people and stimulate economic activities in the district.
