Government of Ghana has released an amount of one-hundred and seventy thousand Ghana cedis  (GHs170, 000.00) for the payment of compensation to farmers at who had their crops destroyed during the construction of the Antseadze Water Project.

Government of Ghana has released an amount of one-hundred and seventy thousand Ghana cedis  (GHs170, 000.00) for the payment of compensation to farmers at who had their crops destroyed during the construction of the Antseadze Water Project.

This means the affected farmers can sooner or later smile to the bank to receive their share of the money to enable them to start a new economic venture.

Disrict Chief Executive, Theophilus Aidoo Mensah, who was addressing assembly members at a meeting, also added that another two-hundred and seventy-five thousand Ghana Cedis (GHs275, 000.00) has also been released for payment of compensation to landlords whose lands were used for the water project.

The DCE disclosed that apart from communities in the Ekumfi District which would benwfit from the water extension project, a sizeable number of towns in Gomoa West including Dago, Hweda, Obiri, Fawomanye, Antseadze, Amanfo and among others would equally benefit under the first phase of the project while Gomoamain and surrounding communities would be covered under the second phase.
