For almost a year now, communal labour activities at Gomoa-Onyaadze in the Central Region have virtually come to a halt.

The citizens said they had boycotted such useful communal activities due to unnecessary harassment by a man who identifies himself as a personal bodyguard of the Chief of the Town, Nana Gurah V.

Mr Isaac Okyere, Assemblyman for the area, and Opanin Kobena Gurah, a farmer, confirmed the allegation when the Ghana News Agency (GNA) contacted them.

According to Mr Okyere, all efforts to convince the people to rescind their decision had proved futile.

Later in an interview with the GNA, Nana Gurah said he was in the process of constructing a filling station in the town as part of his plans to give it a face-lift.

He said he was determined to do everything within his powers to bring his people together to ensure the rapid development of the town.
