President John Dramani Mahama has in accordance with Article 243 of the 1992 Constitution and Section 20 of the Local Government Act, Act 462, 1993, re-nominated Peter Asiri, Chief Executive of East Akim Municipal Assembly for consideration by assembly members.

A press release signed by the Minister of Local Government and Rural Development, Samuel Akwasi Oppong contained a list of 16 re-nominated MMDCEs and 8 new appointees while two chief executives Johnson Ahiakpor - Asuogyaman and Alex Asamoah-New Juaben have been directed to hand over to their respective regional ministers.

When approved it will be his second term in office having served four years under Late President Mills’ administration.
