As part of measures to equip physically challenged persons in the East Akim Municipality in the Eastern Region to generate income to support their livelihood, the assembly is providing some groups with corn mills.

As part of measures to equip physically challenged persons in the East Akim Municipality in the Eastern Region to generate income to support their livelihood, the assembly is providing some groups with corn mills.

Speaking to Ghanadistricts.com, Simon Peter Asirifi, Municipal Chief Executive said the assembly has lived up to its responsibilities to the physically challenged persons in the area as all monies accumulated from the 2 percent common fund meant for them have been judiciously disbursed or used to their advantage.

According to him, only recently, 170 people from the group received their disbursement which they applied for to pay school fees, medical bills among other economic activities.

Additionally, the assembly is providing three corn mills to three groups. Already, one group at Apedwa has received theirs while the other two groups would have theirs in due course. The assembly he added is also constructing a structure to install the mill.
