A number of quality health projects are currently under implementation in the West Gonja district to ensure that residents get better and standard facilities which would be responsive to the challenging health matters in the area.

The implementation of such projects under the domain of the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development (MLGRD) and co-ordinated by the West Gonja District Assembly are being powered through a District Development Facility (DDF).

Under the facility, the construction of a Community Based Health Planning and Services (CHPS) centre is underway at Yipala, a suburb of the district.

The CHPS centre is expected to guarantee primary healthcare delivery in the beneficiary community and the surrounding environs to ostensibly promote quality healthcare delivery across-board in areas of the district.

Additionally, a sick bay facility project is also being constructed for students of the St. Annes Girls’ Senior High School to manage minor health issues in the school. 

However, in its bid to gradually address the concerns of the accommodation challenges of the whole area, the West Gonja Assembly is again funding the construction of nurses’ quarters at Laribanga.

The completion of the project will therefore give respite to nurses and health workers of the beneficiary area with respect to accommodation issues of the area.

All the projects, according to the Assembly are moving steadily in the various project areas and has assured that all things being equal the projects will be accomplished shortly.
