Government is constructing the Fufulso-Damongo-Sawla road in the West Gonja district in the Northern region to assist upgrade the road infrastructure in the area.

About 98% distance of the whole stretch covers the W Gonja district and it is a major trunk road linking the Northern region to the Upper West region.

The DCE for the area, Mr. Adam Mutawakilu interacting with Ghanadistricts.com on the ongoing project in the district pointed -out that the completion of the road will consequently boost trade and commerce, as well as tourism prospects in the area.

In addition, he was of the view that the road will facilitate the transport of agric produce from the hinterlands to the major market centres.

He said the 36month project is moving on steadily, indicating that currently contractors assigned on the project were embarking on earth works at the project site. 

The road project which started early this year is subsequently scheduled to end in January 2015.
