All four communities under the Belinsa Electoral Area, in the Builsa District have limited access to potable water, as the six boreholes available to these areas are inadequate to supply the various households.

The area which has a population of about 4,000 is said to experience frequent water crises as there is always pressure on the existing boreholes. Residents want an end to this since the time spent in struggling for water is eating into their productive hours.

In an interview with Ghanadistricts.com, the Assembly member for the Bilinsa Electoral Area, Godwin Akandebaning, indicated that recently some efforts were made to drill additional three boreholes for the area, but said they are yet to be completed.

The four communities under the area including, Pankusa, Bilisosa, Punsa, and Dilimososa are nonetheless calling for the rehabilitation of the Bilimosa dam, which the community hugely depends on for agricultural purposes.

The Assembly member realized that because the dam has not seen any major rehabilitation, flow of water has not been effective in recent times.

He said the situation even worsens in the dry season, as the community members go through a lot of stress to get water for their animals, domestic purposes as well as irrigating their farms.
