Mr. Kofi Agyenim Boateng the assemblyman for Ahensan in the Sekyere East District is calling on government to speed up the electrification project embarked in his electoral area.

According to him the provision of electricity to the area will help in the development of more indigenous industries which will decrease the high  unemployment rate in the community, and therefore called on the government and other corporate bodies to redirect attention to speed up the project.

The assemblyman further disclosed that, work on the electrification project in the area is currently 20% completed, adding that the project which was initially proposed to cover only Akokoase to Ahensan is now being extended to other surrounding communities such as Daakoho, Mahiniso and Adurom.

Other beneficial communities include Anunya, Nyaana and Akokoase.

He noted that, the electrification project from Akokoase to Ahensan is a self- support project in collaboration with the government whereas its extension to other communities is fully government support.

Hon. Boateng finally disclosed that, the community has also completed a modern “acquaprivy” toilet to help improve upon sanitation conditions in the area
