The assembly member for the Kpetoe Electoral Area, in the adaklu-Anyigbe District, Mr. James Coffie Agbemavie has expressed worry at the absence of a district hospital to handle special health cases in the area.
He said the district which has only one clinic cannot deliver most health cases as the place is not properly equiped with drugs, equipments and even beds to admit patients.
He has therefore appealed to government to come to the aid of the assembly in dealing with the problem.
The District Coordinating Director also confirmed the state of the clinic but added that as a short term measure minor maintainance works are being carried out to keep the place functioning.
He added that the assembly has secured about 40 acres of land for the construction of a district hospital with doctors and nurses quarters.
"We have written to government about the issue and the preparations made so far and are waiting for a response as to the next line of action.
If the response does not come anytime soon, then we would make a follow up to speed up the process, he added.
