(KPETOE) ADAKLU- ANYIGBE: Abodakpui pledges to support kente industry
Mr Dan Abodakpui, the Ghana’s Ambassador to Malaysia has promised to use his office to promote and create links for the Kente industry in Malaysia to boost tourism and increase the income of the people of Agortime whose livelihood depend to a large extent on kente weaving.

Mr Dan Abodakpui, the Ghana’s Ambassador to Malaysia has promised to use his office to promote and create links for the Kente industry in Malaysia to boost tourism and increase the income of the people of Agortime whose livelihood depend to a large extent on kente weaving.
Hon. Abodakpui made the pledge at this years kente festival at Kpetoe in the Volta Region.
Hon. Abodakpui, the former Minister of Trade and Industry in the previous Rawlings led National Democratic Congress administration, played a pivotal role in the establishement of the festival as well as development and promotion of the kente industry in Agortime.
It is thus heartwarming when he announced his preparedness to ensure that what was started was provided a condusive platform for expansion.
He acknowledged the selfless services of the paramount chief and
other leading members whose vision and hardwork ensured that what was deemed impossible was made real and still growing in strength.
"I was surprised when i travelled to the kente weaving site in Kumasi in the Ashanti Region and was told majority of the weavers hail from Agortime,which signifies the level of creativity in you which when well utilised would change the economic status of the people.
He appeal to the people to remain united in order to summount their development challenges.
