Afigya Kwabre South DCE Provides Additional Furniture to Schools

The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Afigya Kwabre South, Hon. Patricia Pearl Ankrah, has provided additional furniture to schools in the district to support effective teaching and learning.

The presentation, made on September 9, 2026, formed part of the Assembly’s efforts to address the shortage of furniture and improve the learning environment in schools across the district.

The furniture, comprising dual desks and teachers’ desks, would be distributed by the District Education Directorate to public schools across the district.

Speaking at the presentation, Hon. Ankrah said the intervention was aimed at addressing some of the key challenges confronting education in the district, particularly the shortage of furniture.

She said the furniture included 150 sets of desks and chairs and would help create a more conducive environment for both teachers and pupils.

According to the DCE, the Assembly would continue to address educational challenges in phases, with priority currently being given to the furniture deficit.

She said after addressing the furniture challenge, the Assembly would focus more attention on school infrastructure, including the construction of new classroom blocks.

Hon. Ankrah disclosed that some school building projects being undertaken by the Assembly were nearing completion and would soon be commissioned.

She appealed to teachers and school authorities to take proper care of the furniture and ensure regular maintenance to enable it to serve both present and future generations of pupils.

Receiving the furniture on behalf of the District Education Director, Mr Francis Kumanim commended the DCE for her continued support towards education in the district.

He recalled that earlier in the year, the DCE provided 400 mono desks to schools across the district and had now supplied additional furniture, including 200 dual desks and teachers’ desks.

Mr Kumanim further disclosed that another set of hexagonal desks would also be distributed to public schools across the district.

He assured the DCE that the Education Directorate and beneficiary schools would take good care of the furniture and ensure that it remained in good condition for the benefit of current and future generations.
