In a colourful display of culture and tradition, the Bechem Traditional Council outdoored Nana Asiwobour Osei Bonsu III as the new Paramount Chief and President of the Council for the people of Bechem.

The historic event marked the beginning of a renewed journey of progress and shared responsibility. The ceremony was chaired by Okoforobour Dr. Yaw Agyei II, Omanhene of Mim.

The event attracted a large number of dignitaries, including the Member of Parliament for Tano South, Hon. Charles Asiedu; the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Hon. Emmanuel Kwame Frimpong; the Municipal Coordinating Director, Mr. Abdul Rahman Salam; government officials, traditional leaders, security personnel, and residents of Bechem and neighbouring communities, all of whom gathered to witness the historic occasion.

In his welcome address, Hon. Emmanuel Kwame Frimpong congratulated Nana Asiwobour Osei Bonsu III on his enstoolment as Paramount Chief of the Bechem Traditional Area and welcomed guests to the ceremony.

He emphasized that the primary goal of leadership is to bring tangible progress and development to the people and called for unity among all stakeholders. According to him, Bechem can only achieve its development aspirations through a united front, as unity remains the foundation for sustainable growth and advancement.

Hon. Frimpong reaffirmed the government's commitment to working closely with the Traditional Council to promote development within the area. He outlined several key initiatives, including the establishment of a Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA) office and the construction of a modern poultry, meat, and feed processing factory aimed at revitalising the local economy and creating employment opportunities for the youth.

He also announced plans for the establishment of a Cashew Processing Factory in Bechem, which is expected to generate significant employment opportunities for young people. Additionally, he disclosed that advanced plans were underway for the construction of a Ginger Processing Factory in the Dwomo area and urged local farmers to begin cultivating ginger to ensure a steady supply of raw materials once the factory becomes operational.

The MCE appealed to residents to support the new Paramount Chief to ensure that Bechem thrives under his leadership.

Delivering his keynote address, Nana Asiwobour Osei Bonsu III expressed profound gratitude to His Royal Majesty, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the Asantehene, for the confidence reposed in him. He pledged his loyalty to the Golden Stool and committed himself to serving Asanteman faithfully.

He also extended his appreciation to the Queen Mother of Bechem, Nana Adwoapo Dwamena Serwaa II, the kingmakers, and the people of Bechem for their trust and confidence in his leadership.

Nana Osei Bonsu III declared that his foremost priority would be unity, stressing that the progress and prosperity of Bechem depend on the collective efforts of families, the youth, and members of the diaspora. He highlighted the importance of strengthening "Atafo" unity by maintaining a strong bond among Bechem, Dwomo, Terchire, and Tanoso.

He called on entrepreneurs and members of the diaspora to partner with the community to create jobs and invest in local development, citing the area's fertile land and hardworking people as key advantages.

The Paramount Chief stated that his development agenda for the Bechem Traditional Area would focus on education, youth empowerment, improved healthcare delivery, and the revitalisation of local culture through the rebranding of the Adekyem Festival. He also outlined plans to establish a modern secretariat for the Traditional Council, construct a modern palace, and advocate for the establishment of a Health College in Bechem with specialised programmes.

Addressing the youth directly, Nana Osei Bonsu III pledged to lead with their future at heart and urged them to support his vision of transforming Bechem into a thriving and prosperous community.

In her closing remarks, the Queen Mother of the Bechem Traditional Area, Nana Adwoapo Dwamena Serwaa II, expressed her heartfelt appreciation for the successful ceremony and the overwhelming support shown to the Traditional Council.

She called for unity among the people, stressing that unity is not only a cultural value but also a practical necessity for achieving the community's development goals. She urged both royals and citizens to set aside their differences and work together for the advancement of Bechem.

Nana Adwoapo Dwamena Serwaa II further linked the success of the new leadership to economic development, youth empowerment, and efforts to tackle unemployment. She encouraged both the youth and elders to collaborate in building a brighter future and positioning the Bechem Traditional Council as a catalyst for sustainable development.
