Wenchi Municipal Assembly in the Brong Ahafo Region as a matter of urgency needs a Chief Executive to steer the affairs of the Municipality as failure to do so would retard progress of the Assembly.

Investigations carried out by Ghanadistricts.com proved that the Assembly has not received its share of the District Assemblies Common Fund (DACF) and other benefits due them halted because they do not have a Municipal Chief Executive.

This situation has crippled the Municipal Assembly in the discharge of its duties.
As at now, some contractors are threatening to take legal actions against the Assembly for not paying them for their services.

The situation is also affecting the implementation of the action plan for the area because the MCE is suppose to append his signature to the documents before it is implemented or to enable them benefit from the FOAT.

Altough the District Development Fund (DDF) as well as other donor support funds are released as and when they were needed, there was however the need to have an MCE to help represent the president as well as fast-track the developmental agenda of the government in that stretch of the Region.
