The Ahafo Ano North District Assembly has given a massive boost to the local police by providing office and residential accommodation to the service at the district capital of Tepa.
The Tepa Divisional Police headquarters and District Police Command now have their own office accommodation which is not in use.
The Assembly has also constructed a barracks for the personnel.
The District Chief Executive, Mr. David Addai Amankwah, said it was to motivate the police to give off their best in protecting lives and property, and ensuring that peace and order prevail all year round.
He indicated that the Assembly gives priority to the security of the people, hence the initiative to equip the personnel with the right environment to work well.
barracksMr. Amankwah was not happy that the facilities provided were not in use, because the Police Command wants the premises to be tarred, graveled or paved before they occupied them.
Interestingly, the police are occupying the residential accommodation located beyond the office accommodation, but would not move into the office accommodation, claiming the place was muddy, especially during the rains.
