President John Dramani Mahama, has  in accordance with Article 243 of the 1992 Constitution and Section 20 of the Local Government Act, Act 462, 1993, re-nominated, Claver Kofi Lawson, incumbent District Chief Executive for the Ketu North District the Volta Region for consideration  to serve a second term.

Mr. Lawson performed creditably during his first term as the chief executive of the assembly from 2009 when he was appointed by the late President John Atta Mills.  

Under his leadership, the assembly carried out 107 Projects; 89 of which have been fully completed while 18 are on-going.

Education has greater chunk of the projects with 49 projects, health- 6 projects, sanitation-27 projects; market infrastructure-8; administration 7 projects; Roads 7 projects; and electrification- 3 projects.

His re-nomination therefore does not come as a surprise to many and the citizenry hopes he will even perform better than he did in his first term.
