At least five residents at the Sissala East District have been supported by the Local Enterprise and Skills Development Programme (LESDEP) to acquire some tricycles for the purposes of helping to grow the local economy of the area.
The facilities would essentially assist in conveying farm goods from the hinterlands to the urban centres for marketing, as a step of enhancing and easing transportation to improve trade and commerce in the area.
The Assembly (SEDA) has therefore confirmed through a latest telephone interview with Ghanadistricts.com that the five tricycles have been duly handed over to the respective beneficiaries.
The five beneficiaries included Saaka Bawule, Yakubu Luki Gominah, Kaaku Adama, Banu Yakubu and Osman Nabie all residents in the Sissala East District.
LESDEP however is a unique business model hugely created by government subvention to enable promote community development in the Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Assemblies(MMDA’s), whiles it also gives the platform to address youth unemployment in the local areas.
