KARAGA:Persons with Disability get resource centre

Aside the keen effort put in place to ease the economic burden of People living with Disability in the Karaga district through the judicious implementation of the Disability Management Fund, the Assembly had also offered an enabling environment to assist them secure a meaningful economic activity to improve their wellbeing.

Aside the keen effort put in place to ease the economic burden of People living with Disability in the Karaga district through the judicious implementation of the Disability Management Fund, the Assembly had also offered an enabling environment to assist them secure a meaningful economic activity to improve their wellbeing.

This was made possible through the establishment of a modern resource centre for the disabled meant to aid them learn all sorts of trade of their interest in the area.

Mr. Sulemana Hussein Issah, DCE for the area speaking in an interview with Ghanadistricts.com intimated that the facility is fully completed now and is currently in use by these individuals.

He said the project was realised courtesy the 2% quota set by government from the District Assembly Common Fund (DACF) to be dedicated specifically towards enhancing the welfare of the disabled in the district.

He therefore believed such a facility secured in the area will help in diverse ways to enable these individuals obtain some form of skills which could be sustainable in improving their lots.
