More basic schools located in communities under the Wa East district are gradually being enhanced to improve the standard of education in the area.

Some of these existing school structures which have recently been improved include a 6 unit classroom block, and a 3 unit Junior High School (JHS) block at Gudayiri, a suburb of the district.

Mr. Ameen Salifu, DCE for the area, has disclosed that the two projects in the community were both accomplished at a cost of GHS 55,000. He was speaking in an interview with Ghanadistricts.com.

According to him, the structures were very old and dilapidated in the area, hence the decision by the Assembly to enhance it further for the efficient and effective conduct of teaching and learning activities.

The projects which had been completed and handed over was powered through the District Development Fund(DDF), and also forms part of strategies to boost quality education in the district.
