The Wa East District Assembly has created the opportunity for more residents and household to benefit from water facilities that will minimize their woes in their quest to access potable water.

In this regard about 55 borehole facilities have been drilled for some environs in the area captured under the Sustainable Rural Water System which had been introduced in the local areas by government to help solve the water challenges in the communities.

Speaking in an interview with Ghanadistricts.com, the District Chief Executive for the area, Ameen Salifu indicated that the Assembly has committed itself in ensuring that the majority of communities are covered with safe drinking water to curtail the long hours people spend trekking in search of water for use.

He said the Assembly has also managed to secure 2 limited water overhead tanks with standpipes that will supply water to two communities which are Manwe and Goripie, as well as the nearby environs.

However certain towns like Baayiri, Dolisa, Jayiri, Gbantala and Sagu were all beneficiaries of the 55 boreholes facilitated by the Assembly to help boost water system in the district.
