ASIKUMA: 120 disabled persons to receive support

 

The Ghana Disabled Association is currently organizing a sensitization and financial support programme for about 120 persons with disability at Breman Asikuma in the Asikuman Odoben Brakwa (AOB) in the Central Region.

The Ghana Disabled Association is currently organizing a sensitization and financial support programme for about 120 persons with disability at Breman Asikuma in the Asikuman Odoben Brakwa (AOB) in the Central Region.

However the programme is also aimed at training and supporting beneficiaries under income generation businesses to help them in job acquisition.

Mrs. Georgina Nkrumah Aboah, District Chief Executive, in earlier interview with Ghanadistricts.com noted that the assembly in collaboration with some local and international disabled associations thought it wise to support the 120 persons in order to improve their standard of living.

According to her, the assembly was much prepared to support the organization of such programmes especially that relating persons with disability.

She noted her outfit had always ensured the payment of the 2 percent disability fund out of the District Assemblyís Common Fund as mandated by country’s constitution.
