JIRAPA: More CHPS compound to deliver primary access to health care

In order to deliver easy accessibility to basic health care and also ensure quality health for all in the Jirapa District of the Upper West region, the Jirapa District Assembly has embarked on constructing two Community Based Health Planning and Services(CHPS) compound in the area.

In order to deliver easy accessibility to basic health care and also ensure quality health for all in the Jirapa District of the Upper West region, the Jirapa District Assembly has embarked on constructing two Community Based Health Planning and Services(CHPS) compound in the area.

These  two CHPS compound are sited at Degri and Saawie in the Jirapa district.

It is believed that these two projects undertaken would go a long way to unlock the difficulties  the people in these remote localities faced in accessing basic health care.

This will also add to the quest of Ghana Health Service(GHS) in making efforts to provide about 197 CHPS compound in the Upper West Region by the year 2012. 

Besides the construction of these CHPS compound the Assembly has also constructed an 8 unit market stalls and a slaughter house all sited at Tizza.

These projects the assembly claimed were all funded by the District Development Fund(DDF).
