ATWIMA KWANWOMA: GH¢73,000 Police Station for Atwima Afasiebon

Nana Kofi Sika  Ohwire, Odikro of  Atwima Afasiebon, has provided a new police station and residential accommodation at the cost of GH¢73,000 at Afasiebon in the Atwima Kwanwoma District of the Ashanti Region.

According to Nana Ohwire, who is also a renowned businessman, the project was his dream come true, and commended Nana Antwi Agyei Brepong II, Atwimahene, the Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr. Kwaku Agyeman-Mensah, and the Regional Police Commander, DCOP Patrick Timbillah, for their instrumentality in giving legs to his ideas. 

He said security was a condition for development, hence the initiative to enable the police perform their duties, and provide full security and protection to the citizenry.

He appealed to individuals and stakeholders to in diverse ways help the police to ensure that the people live peacefully. He noted that a peaceful atmosphere was a condition for the influx of investors, which he said, was needed for a reduction in the unemployment situation.

The Ashanti Regional Police Commander, DCOP Patrick Timbillah, who cut the tape to commission the project, said the project was in fulfillment of the quest of the police administration to bring policing to the doorsteps of the populace.

The Police Chief, on behalf of the police administration, expressed his profound appreciation to Nana Kofi Sika Ohwire for providing the police with “such a wonderful the gift.”

He said was it a clear demonstration of Nana’s willingness to help the police fight crime in the Ashanti Region, and appealed all benevolent organisations and individuals to emulate the Chief’s kind gesture.

He said the government was doing its best to assist the Police Service by providing them with the necessary logistics and resources to fight all manner of crime in the country.

The Police Commander advised landlords and residents to form associations, and also support the neighborhood committees.
