A circuit court at Bibiani has granted GH¢20,000.00 bail with one surety to Kwaku Kwayie, a 35 -year old farmer at Sefwi-Ahibenso, for allegedly attempting to murder his ex-girlfriend.
 
Kwayie who denied the offence, is to appear again in court on Wednesday, April 28.
 
Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Raymond Erzuah, told the court presided over by Mr Justice Emmanuel Ankamah that the accused and ex-boyfriend, Afua Owusuwaa both live at Sefwi-Ahibenso.
 
DSP Erzuah said that Kwayie had been threatening to kill the former girlfriend for some time. 
 
The prosecution said that on January 22, the accused poisoned the girlfriend’s water. 
 
A farm labourer saw Kwayie and informed Owusuaa’s brother about it.
 
DSP Erzuah said that an empty sachet, suspected to have contained the poisonous substance was retrieved from Kwayie.
