Awudu Ibrahim, a 27-year-old motorbike mechanic resident at Sefwi Akontombra Nkwanta in the Western Region, shot and killed his girlfriend on the night of December 23, 2009.

According to Awudu his girlfriend paid a visit to his house at about 11:00 pm. Deciding that it was too late a time, he alleged that his girlfriend was cheating on him and could not help but gun her down.

The Western Regional Police Crime Officer. Superintendent Victor Agbetornyo said Awudu Ibrahim has been arrested and put in police custody pending investigations.

The girlfriend. Abiba Azaare died as she was being rushed to Enchi Government Hospital, where the body has been deposited at the morgue for autopsy. Police investigations are underway.
