Samuel Otoo, a middle aged carpenter from Assin Foso, appeared before the Assin Foso District Magistrate court for defiling a 13-year old girl.

His plea was not taken and was remanded in custody to re-appear on
December 12.

Prosecuting Police Inspector P.K. Attah told the court presided over by Mr Joseph Blay that on November 1, the accused took advantage of the absence of his wife and sexually assaulted the victim.

He said four days later, the accused defiled the victim again compelling her to report the case to her parents who also informed the police who caused his arrest.
