Two non-governmental organisation, PM International, based in Germany, and World Vision Ghana, have jointly constructed three classroom blocks at a total cost of GH¢750 million to be used as kindergartens for three communities in the Assin-North municipality.

The beneficiary communities Assin Wurakese, Assin Homaho and Armah Camp provided communal labour for the projects.

Inaugurating the buildings at separate ceremonies, Mrs Irene Euler, a representative of MP International, said the aim of the organisation was to help people to “lead healthier and better lives,” adding that it was also assisting World Vision Ghana with 300 projects in the country.

Mrs Euler said that it was the wish of every parent that one day their children would be able to live independent lives, and pointed out that good education was one of the most important tools to make that possible.

She, therefore, appealed to the people to invest in their children’s education.
“Our children are our future.  They need our protection and help and that is why we should do everything to create a liveable neighborhood where a child can grow,” she stressed.

Mr Kwabena Karkari Apau, the municipal chief executive, commended the NGOs for providing the buildings and promised that the assembly would provide furniture for the schools.

He urged PM International to also assist World Vision to provide a Senior High School to cater for people in the three communities.

Mr Alex Okyere, Assin Foso Area Development Programme Manager of World Vision, expressed the hope that the school blocks would enhance the educational reforms.
