KARAGA : District appeals for support

The recent torrential rains which brought a lot of mishap to the people living in the Northern part of the country also affected, people and  farmlands in the "overseas" communities in the Karaga District.

The recent torrential rains which brought a lot of mishap to the people living in the Northern part of the country also affected, people and  farmlands in the "overseas" communities in the Karaga District.

So far, fifteen out of the forty eight overseas communities have been destroyed, including farmlands and school buildings.

The Karaga District Chief Executive, Hon Baba Wahab who lamented the situation to ghanadistricts.com indicated that some of the communites which have been affected include Lulugu, Bitani, Gbanlua, Kpobo, Kambonsiya, Sogu, Tatalgu and Kpalsong.

He explained that because most of the buildings were made from mud,day in and out, they keep falling apart.

He said that from time to time people troop to the district assembly to solicit for help.

Hon. Wahab said the assembly was doing its best to help the affected people in the area, however more needed to be done to support the victims.


He therefore appealed to philantrophist, beneovolent organisations
to come to the aid of the people.
